Nereid’s
adult programs are designed to progress a beginner rower to Novice programs, membership and participation in the club throughout 2010. There are two ways to start. 2. Nereid also offers a beginner’s program that starts with 5 one-hour private lessons at a cost of $200. This allows for flexibility for those who cannot attend the group Learn to Row sessions. It also provides the ability to start earlier or later in the rowing season. These individual Learn to Row sessions will be arranged with the coaches and can start whenever safe water conditions allow. This is likely to be from early April through early November. Upon completion of all private lessons a participant
must join the club before taking additional private lessons or
participating in an Adult Novice class. Adult Novice 1 - 6/21 through 7/14 Mon, Wed and Fri 5:30-6:45PM (no session on 7/5) If you want to participate in an Adult Novice session but cannot make the scheduled dates and times, contact our coaches or David Dowd, VP Rowing Programs programs@nereidbc.org. We will try to organize a session with others who also may be interested. 4. The Adult Technique program is for club members who want to continue to improve their skills. The program will cost $320 for 8 sessions. There is a maximum of 4 rowers per program. The dates for the Adult Technique Improvement programs are: Adult Technique Improvement 1 - 5/31 through 6/16 Mon, Wed and Fri 6:45-8PM 5. Private Lessons:
Nereid’s youth programs are designed so a beginner can progress from Learn to Row, to Novice, to a competitive team. If you are interested in participating in Competitive Rowing in High School or in a Club setting these programs are excellent preparation. |

Water practice will start as soon as possible after 3/15, but will be dependent on temperature, weather, water conditions and daylight. Land practice will occur if the coaches decide conditions are not appropriate for water practice. The coaches will determine when participants are ready to participate in competition. For those eligible, we plan to attend regattas on 4/16 at Mercer Lake and 4/25 in Camden. C. Fee 3.
