NO LAZY SUMMER FOR NEREID JUNIORS

With another 13 boats entered in this weekend’s Philadelphia Youth Regatta, Nereid juniors are proving themselves to be fearsome Schuykill River competitors.

At the Independence Day Regatta, 13 boats of Nereid Juniors raced in 10 events. Big congrats to all competitors, especially the three boats made the finals:

Women’s junior 4x came in 2nd in its heat and 2nd in the final

Men’s junior 16 4x took 1st in its heat and 2nd in the final

Men’s intermediate 2x took 2nd in its heat and 5th in its final

Also, well done Grace Becz and Helen Becz, who came in 4th in the 1000 meter Mother/Daughter 2x.  Grace, a Nereid member, learned to row in one month in order to compete with her daughter, an All-American rower for Rutgers.
